Re: Ball Pythons Hissing???
I had to move my normal around one day so I could put his hide back in his tank. I swear he hissed at me then too. It was nuts.
Re: Ball Pythons Hissing???
:colbert:Yes hissing usually means that are not happy my little het albino male does it all the time he is still getting use to being held so ill open the tub and he will hiss really loud when i try to pick him up but im not sure about being around your neck and hissing haha but yes they can hiss loud my big girl HISS is so loud like right after feeding ill open the tub to check temps ext and she lets me know she doenst want to be touched
Re: Ball Pythons Hissing???
I think it is more of a blow than a hiss. They are letting you know they do not want to be bothered. I have heard my ball pythons make "smelling" sounds while I have been holding them. I don't think they are smelling but it is not blowing out of anger. This is probally what you are hearing.
Re: Ball Pythons Hissing???
Ball pythons are a snake. Snakes hiss.
Dogs bark, cats meow, birds chirp and so on. :)
Re: Ball Pythons Hissing???
What you heard does sound more like a blow than a hiss. My male het pied hisses at me EVERY time I have to move him. He's got quite the attitude. Yours doesn't sound like it was annoyed too much though

Cats hiss, too. :P Probably for the same reason that snakes do.
Re: Ball Pythons Hissing???
Ive never had a problem after hearing a hiss. My 2 Adult BCI's I was temporarily keeping in georgia hissed all the time.
