Re: Woma Black Head Hybrid?
I imagine it would look nearly the same, perhaps bigger, considering they look so much alike.
I would hope that it never actually happens in captivity, since the black heads are so few and far between (from my wanderings anyways) that people would keep them separate.
I believe I read somewhere that there are actually 3 different localities of womas that differ enough to mandate no crossing even at that level?
I could be completely wrong about that last part.
Re: Woma Black Head Hybrid?
I doubt it.
There are way too few people breeding blackheaded pythons. Some have trouble with breeding blackhead to blackhead, so I don't know why someone would want to attempt it.
Re: Woma Black Head Hybrid?
considering the difficulty associated with breeding these species, then hatching the eggs, to begin with - i doubt this would happen. if it did then i think they'd look like a really ugly woma.
Re: Woma Black Head Hybrid?
I think it could happen in the future... Im not saying it will look pretty but it could happen.... evenually.....

There are actually more than 3 localities of womas but here in the States, we don't have access to pure locality womas.
I am sure at some point someone will try to produce the intergrade but not in the near future.

Yeah. I imagine they would look nearly the same too, just with a different head than either of them have.
Have any woma crosses been made?

- Tanami
- Uluru
- Boodarie
- Rockhampton Downs
- Tennant Creek
- etc.
However, many of these locales are areas within other localities - for example, Tennant Creek is in the Tanami desert.
