    summer trip
I have a question, this summer I am going to New York this summer, from North Carolina, its an 11 hour car trip. I would like to be able to take my snakes, but I am worried that I wont be able to keep them warm enough. I will be gone for two weeks, and my question is, if I feed a larger than normal meal, fill up their water bowls to the highest capacity, and clean their cages the day I leave, will my snakes be ok for the two weeks or should I take them with me?

Find a friend to check on them for you?

I was thinking of that, maybe one of my brothers friends, they have looked after our dogs, but I dont know how they feel about snakes.

Ball pythons are illegal in NYC if that is where you are going.

P.S. check out the Bronx Zoo while you are there. They are known for their Gorilla exhibit, they also have a cool wild dog exhibit.

You can just feed them a normal meal. It isn't going to hurt them if they don't eat for two weeks. But water will be an issue.. you should prolly have a friend check their water a few times while you are gone.

Yes. I've seen threads on KS about it. Run a search there.

I would defiantly not take them with you think how stressed out they would get being in the car the whole time. Two weeks isnt very long at all for a snake to go without eating. It would be a good idea though to have someone check on them to make sure temps are ok thats only thing i worry about when i got out of town. It would be my luck to have my thermostat go out the few times a year im out of town. Sound like an awesome trip, i love road trips. :gj:

thanks for the replies everyone, I definately think I am not going to take them now. I am not going to the city, I am going upstate actually, where I used to live. I was really worried about them getting stressed in the car so thats definately another reason to leave them home. I didnt know snakes were illegal in the city! Thats weird!
