boa lethargic and acting odd...
i got a baby red tail boa a little over a month ago, and she has been acting very strange.
i thought she was just getting used to her surroundings at first, but i have never once seen her out of her hide, whenever i hold her she is always extremely lathargic and uninterested in exploring... her tongue is always out though, just moves very sluggish.
i was worried about ibd when i first got her, but she doesnt seem to have the symptoms... she can flip over by herself, although once again, sluggishly, etc.
she has been eating an adult mouse once a week with gusto, which is a good thing...
Re: boa lethargic and acting odd...
Sounds like a happy snake to me...try checking on her at 4am, hehe...=)
My boa is never out of her hide when humans are awake and we only see her nose poking out on feeding day.
But get up in the middle of the night and check on her and she's out and about, checking her domain, having a drinky, etc.

I agree about the night thing, though when we take Zelda out, she is very active and curious and periscoping and exploring. If you are concerned about your snake, please it to a vet...probably along with a fecal sample, just in case. Or...you can call your vet and your concerns by him/her and hear what he/she has to say. :gj:
