Heating Question

I am currently using a 60W infrared bulb that i use during the day in conjunction with a smaller UTH. I was thinking about removing the UTH from under the tank and adding a larger one there and then using another UTH on the back side of the tank to help add ambient air temps. Also once you stick those pads on are they then no good, meaning can i reuse the one that is on the underside as the one for the back or should i just buy some 2 new ones.

The heat pads can prolly be used several and after being removed several times the sticky comes off...

Yea I figured it would lose stickiness eventually, but i'm just looking to move it once. I just thought that I read once they are stuck on that they should not be removed and reused. anyone else have any input??

Thats just a safety warning cause you could break wires or tear it when you remove,which would lead to a fire hazard.
So i would plug it out and wait till it's cold,then remove it with care and put it on the new tank.
I did this several times and everything went well.

yea i figured they were just covering there a$$ with those warnings thanks.

The heat pad on the back side would be a good way to try and replace the light.

I've been looking at the new radiant heat panels and am looking forward to getting one and try and play with. I've seen some good reviews and I think they would work well in a display type enclosure if put overhead and putting a ceramic or stone floor tile down on the floor to heat up and act as belly heat!

the UTH on the side of the tank is not that good of an idea. it's not going to do much but heat up the glass. bumping the ambient temps up is best done with a lamp.

what is wrong with your temps now, too warm or too cool?

the larger UTH will def help the belly temp, but make sure you have a thermostat or at least a rheostat cause you don't want your snake to get a belly tan.

the temps are fine but I am having a hard time keeping the humidity up. After reading this I am trying to find ways to increase the ambient temp while removing the light to help increase humidity levels.

You don't absolutely have to get rid of the lamp to raise humidity. I have a small lamp over my warm side and keep my humidity in the mid 50's. I have two water dishes, one over top of a UTH, and I covered my screen top with 3 layers of aluminum foil and sealed it with duct tape. Also, a switch in substrate can boost your humidity.
