Re: babies!!
Congrats Nick. Most rats, at least in my experience, are excellent moms. It's pretty rare to find one that won't or can't care for her offspring. Don't be surprised with the bigger litters if the female splits her litter into two nesting areas. When I first bred rats I used to "help" by putting them all back together for her. I'm pretty sure back then the female rats were not impressed with my idiotic helping LOL.

Re: babies!!
Btw Nick, nice job on the momma rats. It's nice to see a female looking that well fleshed after just dropping her litter. It can be quite the drain on them carrying, birthing then nursing a big litter so make sure they get any extra protein you can toss in plus of course constant fresh water.

Re: babies!!
thanks all
thanks Frankykeno, yeah i have been making sure the last few weeks they have been getting plenty of protine and giving them the correct foods. she has since burried the pinkys because my cat got in there and scared her but being left alone all night she brought them back to the other side of the tank and has them nursing again... good mom.
i have 2 water bottles in the tank for them that are full and will be checked many times a day... it has been a good two days, first these little suckers and now 7 eggs from my pastelXnormal
