sometimes they just do their business while you're holding them. Don't take it personal....:P

Just like with other animals (my dog comes to mind), exercise = excrement.

We have the same issue when we do outreaches for schools. Snakes are out for a long while, lots of them decide that it's time to poop/pee.

Snake had to excrete some waste products = you were handy at the time. Don't worry it happens. I can't convince anyone though that having a snake pee or poop on you is a good luck thing - no one ever buys that!

Just pay attention to your snakes behavior. Usually they go still for a minute before doing it. They also straighten out as much as possible (at least in my and someone else's case) and while peeing don't seem bothered by your movements. What I mean by that is...a while ago I was watching TV on my couch with the snake exploring on me when he straighted himself out and became still for a minute. When I realized what he was doing, I lifted his tail and jumped. Usually the snake would have snapped back, but nooo...it's almost like he knew he was pissing ON me and was enjoying my reaction lol.

Is your snake still young? I notice that the older mine gets the less he goes at those terrible times.

Also the more I handle him the more he gets used to me and get's used to being out and about.

I also check to see if he has a 'puffy' butt before I handle him. If it looks bloated I'll pass up handling him for the night. ;)
