    Tub size for ~28" bp
About a month ago, my bro-in-law decided to give me back the ball python I'd been watching for him. Finally, he said come and get it. I'm switching it to a tub, for obvious reasons. This snake, last time I measured it, was about 28" or so.

Sometime this week, I'm going to build a 2-space rack for them. My other bp is in a tube that's approx 27"X16"X6". Would I be ok putting the smaller snake in the same size tub, or should I go with a smaller one? They're cheap enough that if a smaller one would suit him better, I'll do that, but if he'd be ok in the size I'm ultimately going to move him to, I'd just as soon do that.

I think that's what the one I have my other snake in is. I just wondered if that would be too big to have a juvenile in.

This is what I use depending on the snake's size

    Up to 500 grams – 15 Quarts (17"L x 11 1/8"W x 6 3/8"H)

    Up to 1500 grams – 32 Quarts (23 1/2"L x 16 1/4"W x 6 3/8"H)

    Above 1500 grams – 41 Quarts (34 3/4"L x 16 1/2"W x 6"H)

My wife ended up getting me a 28 quart. It's nearly as big as the other, so I think as long as it heats/humidifies properly, it should work.

I have a 32 qt. one for my 24.5 inch long bp so you should be fine for now with the 28. I think a lot of people even use 28-32 qt for much bigger snakes
