Well if you are trying to produce axanthics then buying him alone will be a loooong process
before you can attempt it.If you like him then its up to you ;)

That is about what RDR sells 07's for. Females are a different story. Most of the big name breeders sell Het VPI Axanthic Females for $700 to $750. Another thing of interest I found out about the VPI line axanthic from talking with Tracy Barker is the females (Homo form and Het Form) tend to lay larger clutches than a lot of the other morphs VPI has. This to me made the $250 extra for a Het VPI female over a Joliff well worth it and in all honesty almost a steal!

I will be buying a het female if I get this guy, so that will only put me a little ways out...especially if I can find a 500+ gram female...anyone? haha

Re: Het Axanthics?
I guess if it were me, I might buy the male if I had extra breeding size females available. The male is old enough to breed now. I'd breed him and produce 50% possible het axanthics, keep all the females, sell the males as normals, sell the proven breeder het axanthic male that produced them and in a couple of years when the females are big enough to breed, buy a male axanthic of the same line.

That price is nothing special for a male. You would be better off just waiting and picking up a female first. Having a breeder size het male does you no good without the female. Whoever you buy your het female from will probably pretty much give you the het male for free as part of the deal for the female.

Only problem with this is they are normally siblings from the same clutch. While inbreeding is common with most reptile breeders, most breeders will try and inject new blood on every second or third breeding. Look at the parents history to see if inbreeding was involved in the creation of these Hets!
