    Raised scales??
My new Amel, Apollo, has some of the scales on top of his head and along his sides that are 'lifted' from one end...like lifting a rock to look underneath. Is this a sign of low humidity or that he's rubbing to much??
He also has a dark spot on the left side of his chin that looks like a scale is missing. It was reddish in color last week but is now a light brown. Is that a missing or rubbed raw scale or something else?
I would have pictures, but it's hard to get detailed shots of small things on a moving corn snake. :)

It could be some left over shed skin due to poor humidity(before you got him).Try spraying him and see if they come off when he moves thru your hands. The chin does sound like its from rubbing on something. If its a brownish color it is healing then.
