Water Bowl - In Tub Enclosure
seems as though I am fighting a loosing battle with water bowls. They are being knocked over it seems like every day. If you have a rack system with plastic tubs please let me know what you use or leave a link. The more responses the merrier. Thanks.:gj:
Re: Water Bowl - In Tub Enclosure
8/9 of mine seem to do fine with the bowls i use. I do have one, however, that is notorious for dumping her water. I used to put it along the front edge of the tub or in the corner and discovered that if i put it dead in the middle where she can get around all sides of it, she doesnt dump it, but just slides it around slightly. Maybe playing around with placement would help?

Steve,
We use a 5 inch ceramic bowl, with a 16 oz. delicup inserted for easy cleaning. I rarely get a tipped over water bowl (usually only if a wild male was in the females tub for breeding, and flipped the delicup).
Re: Water Bowl - In Tub Enclosure
Tim, where do you pick those up at? Thanks for the help.
Re: Water Bowl - In Tub Enclosure
I use 2 1/2" sections of large PVC pipe the same way Tim does. I use them to hold tupperware bowls, and the snakes can't tip them anymore.

4" PVC couplers w/ replaceable deli cups.:gj:
Re: Water Bowl - In Tub Enclosure
We use the 7 1/2" ceramic bowls we got from www.pet-dog-cat-supply-store.com for our adults and 4" or 3" for babies. They are the stoneware crock dog dishes. They seem to work well for us in our racks.

Do you attach them to the tubs at all, or are they just heavy enough to keep them from being overturned?

Mine are not attached to the tubs, the weight of the water and diameter of PVC keep them VERY stable. A large girl could possibly tip one, but I haven't had it happen yet.
