just witnessed their first breeding session

i just watched my 2 rats breed for their first time and its also the first time ive seen it. it took nearly 30 minutes for "max" to finally get it right. i believe he got the job done because the last time he tried he got "in" her and after that they both calmed down. some may find it gross but i found it very interesting...:oops:

can a male rat ejaculate in a second or two? what are the odds of her being pregnant? she is clearly in heat but im not sure if he really got the job done or not:please:

male rats are NOT known for their staying power so yes he can get her pregnant in about 2 seconds.

You will most likely see many sessions of the male rat spazzing for about 2-3 seconds. Then she runs off and he cleans himself. Then after a few minutes they start all over again. Yes, they can get pregnant. ;)
