    IBD and Colubrids - dumb question?
    Can Colubrids catch or be carriers of IBD? Or is it just Boas and Pythons? Might be a dumb question, but just wondering. Thanks!

    There have been documented cases of colubrids that have shown inclusions similar to those seen in IBD infected pythons and boas.

    Skiploder is right, there have been cases of something similir of it showing up in colubrids. I remember a while back a corn breeder had it come up in there collection and hatch out in some of there babies and they were trying to figure out what it was and where it came from. I know they held back all of there babies that year because of them star gazing and having other similiar issues as IBD. If I can find that write up about it or that corn breeder I'll post it for you.

    As far as I know the stargazer gene is associated with Sunkissed corns. I think the breeders working with this gene compare it more to genetic fault and see it like the spider wobble gene. Like spiders the gene doesn't actually kill the snake unless it gazes so badly that it cannot eat. I don't personally work with the gene so I am a little behind on the info but here is a link:
