Bluish areas?

My opal corn that was missing for ten weeks has some bluish colored areas on her. Any ideas what this might be? She has a healthy appetite, moves around well, and otherwise seems fine. These are along her mid-section. They don't look like injuries of any sort.

Well since we can not see them i can not even guess what it might be.Is it possible to get a clear pic posted here?

I tried to take pics, but couldn't get any that showed the bluish areas clearly. They are pretty faint. The flash kept washing the colors out so Ivan looked like a big white blur, none of the pink patterns even showed up in the pics.:( Let alone the blue patches.

Have you got her on newspaper for substrate? If so it could be ink....If not she may have gotten into something while out and about, try washing it off if you havent already:)

substrate is aspen bedding. Someone was telling me that corns often get pigment changes as they grow? Is that true?

I have a snow and you can see a few organs through her scales because of how lightly colored she is. Maybe that's what you're seeing? Corns color does develope as they age. Do a search for pics of adult opals and you can see what she'll look like all grown up.

I was curious about that. She hadn't grown at all in the ten weeks she was missing. I was wondering if that was just a result of missing meals, was that her veins showing through, or what. She *acts* healthy, has had a couple of good-looking BM's (that doesn't sound right I know), so I am thinking she is OK. There is no local herp vet, either.:(
