    hi im barbara from cheshire in the uk can someone help i have never bred royals before so not sure whats happening with my female, i bought a male 2 months ago and as soon as i put him in with her they locked for 20 hours, that was on the 3rd feb they locked again on the 17th, since then they have lost interest in each other, she shed on the 15th feb and looked a little swollen about a week later but now she is showing none of the signs i have been told to look for and shes still eating, can anyone tell me whats going on. barb

    Hi Barbara,

    Do you have any pics or could you take some. I have had females lock and not take and the lumps just kinda got reabsorbed into her body. Hope that helps post some pics if possible it will help in telling you what's going on:gj:

    I just want to comment for future reference. Quarantine quarantine quarantine. Please, it's the responsible thing to do no matter the source of the animal. :)

    Barbara how old are the snakes, weights, and how long you had them separate before introducing them. I know it's a lot of questions put it helps narrow it down.:)

    If she is eating - then she likely isn't gravid - it could be she has already absorbed her follicles or they just not in breeding mode anymore. Give them a break and try pairing them again later.

    And yeah - Quarantine!!!!
