    Vermiculite smelling funny
I did a test batch of Vermiculite about a week ago now it smells funny. Will it mold?
How do I keep it from happening to the mix I have for my eggs? I want to use Perlite/Vermiculite mixture. I found a thread that said it should be 2 parts perlite 1 part vermiculite 1 part water by weight. Dose hat sound right? Also can I mix it up two weeks before eggs are due.

What kind of vermiculite/perlite did you get?

Does it have plant food in it?

The vermiculite is years old, it is large chunks. I got it from a friend. The Perlite wasn't in the mix that smelled funny. It is still in the bag in my trunk. My girl sould drop her eggs in about 2 weeks so I thought about mixing it up and making sure the mix was correct and warm before I put eggs in it.
