    A question about moving
At the end of the month I'll be moving from New Mexico to Nevada--about an 18 hour drive. We are making the trip in 2 days, but I'm taking both ball pythons with me.

My question is, how do I keep them warm during this time? Both of them have small rubbermaid type containers that I have used to transport them to the vet, etc and that's what they'll be in during this drive.

you can get some heat packs like some breeders use when they ship snakes from cold weather but you have to make sure they arent one of those crazy ones that gets really hot you dont want to cook them on the drive

I used hand warmers, the ones you open and give a shake and they warm up. They do get quite hot so if you use something like that, put it inside 1 or 2 thick socks and tie a knot in the top so your bp's can't get in. You could even stick a probe in each if you have two digital thermometers. You can buy these at hardware stores. You can do a 'test run' to monitor how hot the heat bags get with the socks covering them before you go on your journey. Others may have better methods so keep checking back on this thread.

Yeah I took my little girl to the vet and I was afraid she'd get cold (drove 30 miles to get to one of my coworker's vets who said that this guy was awesome - she has 2 snakes and a monitor). I just got one of my hand warmers that I like to take hiking on cold trips and wrapped it up in a pair of socks. It didn't get too hot and she just curled around it :)

The kind I get are the small kind (I think the "feet warmers" get too hot) from REI for about $1.50! But I'm sure they're in all sorts of other places too.
