    Help please!
Hey, tonight I changed to aspen bedding on top of newspaper, My royal will not eat unless shes in her tank, so I put the mouse on top of some newspaper, enough not to roll off, I then started feeding my other snakes, then I realised she and the mouse had gone and thought she had eaten it fast, so I checked her hide and there she was eating it, it had aspen on it and I tried to get the aspen off, but it would not come off, what should I do?

She only poo's not often, should I bath her in a few days and keep bathing her? I'm so completely WORRIED! I'm never going to make that mistake again :/

If BP can digest fur, bones, nails, and teeth a little bit of aspen is not gonna hurt.

It won't be a problem. I never use newspaper, and feed all my snakes in their enclosure. A little over 40 snakes on aspen, and I haven't had a problem yet. Once in a while, one will get a piece stuck in his/her mouth. They either get it loose themselves, or I get it with hemostats. By the way, I have never seen aspen in the "poop" from any of my snakes, and I KNOW some gets swallowed occasionally.

I think you are fine if it happens occasionally but just keep an eye to make sure nothing is stuck in mouth.

Okay, thank you :) I'll keep an eye on her, and make sure it never happens again, should I still bath the snake in a few days?

The aspen question has been answered, so I wanted to touch on your question about pooing and whether or not you should bathe the snake. (To help it poo, I guess?)

Anyhow...it's perfectly normal for them to go long periods between poos. And different snakes are entirely "individual" about it, so you can't compare her schedule to another snake you own or a friend's snake or anything like that. Some go like clockwork that you can count on...some are much more sporatic about it. Some go once a week....some go weeks and weeks between poos...and everything in between.

Try to relax and enjoy your snake! She's fine! :)

Also even if you do soak her you wanna make sure it is well after feeding and the temp of water is a nice 88 degress or so not too hot and not to cool.

They will poop when they want to, dont sweat it.

I remeber my first BP way back when, the guy at the store tells me not to feed until she poops, NOT good advice. They poop when they poop.
