    cleaning cage
so I just cleaned the sgt's tank first filling with hot water then rinsing and adding some bleach and scrubbing that around, will the bleach hurt my bp? I rinsed it like 2 or 3 times after the bleach was out... think he'll be good?

Bleach is toxic so just make sure you wash it out really, really, well. :gj:

I use chlorhexidine solution for regular cleanings since it is non-toxic. I only do the bleach scrub down once every month! :gj:

A good way to tell if the bleach is really rinsed away well is if you can press your finger to the glass fairly hard, run it along the glass and it does not slip. If you feel any slip then the bleach is still there. rinse, rinse, rinse until the glass is grippy when you run your finger along it.

It is the generic for Novalsan and mine is chlorhexidine. It also comes in different percentages so always read the label for dilution instructions! :gj:

Its the 2% solution, check it out at reptilebasics.com, the little bottle makes like 12 gallons.. the stuff is awsome you could drink it without getting sick... not really but its mild.

Im not gonna bleach but every 3-4 months or so. no point if you use paper and clean every week.
