    back heat on racks?
i was thinking about buying a used rack from a friend that has back heat. he says it worked very well for him when he owned his boas...

ive heard ball pythons are a species that (likes?) belly heat, but would back heat work just as well?

    thanks

IMHO belly heat is ideal, but back heat will work fine so long as temps in the tubs are correct and you have a gradient.

I've had these racks for 6 + years with back heat and I love them.
I actually like it better than belly heat...

If your getting a good deal on it then grab it up. Belly heat is preferred by most and thats what i use, but I always reference to thier natural habitat where belly heat doesnt exist (in a termite mound anyway, its all ambiant temps in the wild.

I have always preferred back heat but the new AP racks with the dual side radiant heat are excellent.
Gives you side, belly and back heat all at the same time.
Nice all around warm spot on the back 1/3 of each tub.
