Easy one... introducing Rashid. Montreal Expo.
I picked this boy up at the Montreal Expo on Sunday.

I will not even note what he is as I think it is one of the easiest ones. Also, this is one of the snakes that I have been wanting for the longest time.

I made a list before the show of my best and worst case scenarios of what I would come home with.

The best case scenario included this snake, and the worst case scenario was "just" this snake.

He is in full blue but even so I was willing to get him. I admit that I am looking forward to seeing his belly once he sheds and has his week of acclimation.

The first pic was on Sunday when I got him home, the second two pics were today. Already he has cleared up remarkably.

So here he is... introducing Rashid.

PS: the scale was cleaned before he went on it. The stains are newsprint fingerprints from two years of flipped water dishes. :)

I agree. I have wanted one since I saw my first Ivory. One of my first long-term projects that I planned for was a pastel Ivory. So I figure, one of Zoltan's daughters, and Rashid's sons will get me that much closer.

And all the in between steps are good too... pastel ybs.

Using them to clean up the other morphs is good, but having that extra genetic in the crosses is a bonus too.

I feel like such a noob. My additions are going slow, but I am trying to keep on track and get the right *ingredients* for the long term projects.

And thanks, for letting me man-handle all your snakes at the show. Getting to see the nuances in the Lesser, Pied, Clown, etc. was fantastic.

That clown is the nicest I have seen. I think he(?) is just perfect.

Careful what you ask for! You will be so sick of pics of him within six months you will be wanting to take that back. :)

You better get pics right after his shed, Bruce! LOL He's gorgeous and I couldn't be more thrilled you've achieved your dream of your own YB. Congrats!

Thanks R and J... (makes you sound like a comedy act, or even a band),

But I was pleased. I had plans, but I did not expect to see a YB until this fall, and for at least twice the price. So being a bit up on it is always a good thing.

That is the crucial part about these projects, thinking ahead, staying focused... if bps have taught me nothing else it is all about patience. :)

Just have to up the girl power in the loft and I am all set. But did get a lead on a local breeder with a good number of l000g females (an eyeball weight) for a good price. Once Rashid comes out of quarantine, and I have a good idea of what I can anticipate as far as clutches, then I will look at adding 2-3 females.

Even going so far as to build a quarantine rack. ;)
