    what would cause that?

    should I separate them?

I don't know the first thing about breeding rats. I got 5 free rats from some guy off craigslist (4 males, 1 female with 6 pups). I have been keeping them in some glass aquariums with newspaper for bedding. (I had the males and female separated cause of the babies) Been giving them water and rat food from the local pet store.

The boy is peeing blood? Sounds bad and can be any number of things involving urinary tract infections, kidney stones, kidney disease, tumors...

If your sure it is blood, then you should also know that he is most likely in pain.

That boy needs a vet visit, or a decision to put him down humanly.

would humanly include feeding to a snake??

Should I just suffocate him? I really don't want to take him to a vet. I don't have them as pets and I several other males.

Should I put him in another tank by himself and just monitor him and see if he gets better?

Plainly, I can't say if he's going to get better or not, but I believe that it would require medical treatment.

If he is a large rat, I prefer to euthanize with controlled CO2. I also dont have any boa or large animal to feed it off too, so he would get trashed. It's up to you.
