    She's crafty!
I'm so very, very proud of myself and I just had to share. My six year old daughter has a 50s day coming up this week, so that means I have to come up with a poodle skirt. One big problem... I don't sew. I decided I could do this, and I did! I don't believe I cursed (outloud anyways) once! I did have to warn the family to leave me the heck alone as I finished the leash part, but all in all I'm very proud that I made something that stays on my daughter and vaguely resembles a skirt. My daughter loved it, and wanted to wear it all day so I guess it has her approval too. :D

Christie, that's fantastic and look how happy she is in it! I hate to admit my own oldest daughter had a part in a 50's themed music show at school years ago and I had Mike's mom make the darned poodle skirt.

    I'm in awe!

Awww thanks. I'm actually suprised that it turned out as well as it did. That picture really isn't that good, but I'm not touching the skirt until she has to wear it Wednsday. I'll take another pic of her all dolled up in the entire outfit. This was just a quick, gotta prove to my mom that I actually did it kind thing. You should see my house though... pink felt EVERYWHERE!!!

My daughter got all excited when she saw extra fabric. All of a sudden I'm make baby doll sleeping bags and such. She was all set for me to start making baby doll clothes but I closed the sewing machine on that particular request... at least for now. I need a break from that experience. :giggle:

Thanks. I don't get along with sewing either. I'd love to learn, but I really lack the patience for it.

Now you tell me.... *walks off with bloodied bandages on all fingers* I didn't even think about glueing that leash on. That I decided should be hand sewn, and I think I must have stabbed my fingers at least a dozen times.

The dress is cute and your little girl is a doll.
I can't help but think of the Beastie Boy song when I read the title.
