    the BEST thermom
ok so i did some searching and have seen what some of you use to check and regulate temps, from dig thermometers, to zoomed strips, pet store toys, and even infared guns, but what in your opinion is THE BEST thermometer you can have to check and regulate heat in your enclose and if you have it or plan on getting it. the reason i ask is becuz ive only seen the zoomed stuff in pet stores.

It might not be the best but I use the Accurite digitals from Wallyworld. 12 or 13 bucks. They also check your humidity for you.

I've tried flukers, zoomed, stick on, analog... you name it. The one that I stick with now is Acurite. Of course, you can't beat a good temp gun for accuracy... but for constant temp reading the Acurites are reliable, accurate, and not too pricey!

Best to use are the three in one (in/out/humid) variety, but I also use a single unit with probe for cool side temps. I still have and use a few zoomed and fluker digitals, but those are mostly for backup, travel tubs, and room temps. :)

I use Acurite for the humidity and to glance at the temps. I use my temp gun for temp spot accuracy!

I use a PE1 temp gun as a main thermometer. I have a Harbor Freight temp gun as a backup. There is a guy selling the Harbor Freight ones on Kingsnake at this time for $14.99 shipped. I also have an ESU thermometer with a probe made for reptile use. All 3 are within less than a degree of each other. The PE1 is really nice for $25.
