What Time of the Day do your Girls Lay?
So a side note in one of the other discussions got me to wondering what induces a females timing (during the day) to lay. My girls always lay late afternoon to before midnight, pacific time. I've always assumed it was due to that being the quietest, no movement time of the day at our house.
Please pick the time that most closely matches the majority of your girls laying. Thanks!
Anyone want to theorize on why they lay at that time?? Also, please list your time zone if you reply so we can look at spatial trends. The biologist in me gets totally geeked out excited about stuff like this.
Cheers,
Kat

I thought the Easter bunny left them and they were waiting in the morning for me:D
Re: What Time of the Day do your Girls Lay?
I picked earlybird 1200-0600, but so far 1 out of 7 laid around 1400.
Re: What Time of the Day do your Girls Lay?
I have never been lucky enough to be able to witness them, as I work far far away from my house...
I would say my answer is:
Whenever they feel like it. :D
Re: What Time of the Day do your Girls Lay?
for some reason all mine start to lay around five am or so
Re: What Time of the Day do your Girls Lay?
Last season it seemed when we checked in the morning (6 - 7), they had started, but usually only 1 egg, maybe 2 by then. Then it seems to be done by noon. I had 4 of the 6 follow this same pattern. We had one that was a surprise, and another layed while we were out of town, so don't really know on those two.
