How to Repair a Screen Top Tank?
I have an old 20L tank with one of those sliding screen tops. The plastic frame that the top is supposed to slide in and out of is coming loose from the glass. Two of the four sides are completely loose and just held in place by gravity.
Any ideas on how to repair it? I was thinking maybe using the silicone aquarium sealant. I'm not sure if it would create a strong hold between the plastic and glass? But at least it would be non-toxic.

im by no means an expert on any of this but i would say that aquarium sealant silicon would work just fine, if it can make a water tight seal in a tank, it should be able to hold the track for the lid in place.

Do you know how to replace a screen door on a house?
same way, buy the screen at lowes or home depot, ask them how to install it on a screen door,
there you go

Great answer ATP... I 100% agree!
Re: How to Repair a Screen Top Tank?
The screen is fine. I don't think I would have mentioned aquarium sealant if I was talking about repairing the screen itself! LOL!
The part that is broken is the plastic frame that is supposed to be attached to the glass where the screen slides in and out. 2 of the 4 sides are no longer attached. The plastic is not actually broken; it has separated from the glass. So what I want to do is reattach the plastic frame to the glass.
