The satisfaction of raising healthy, happy animals. That and the fact that no matter what tub I open - THAT animal is my very favorite at that moment. Karl laughs at me when I'm cleaining - I talk to them "you're so damn gorgeous! Look Karl, this is one of my favorites!"
He said "they're all your favorites!"

The different personalities are cool to find out about. Each one of our snakes have different quirks which make them unique. Also the different morphs are cool. Then you have different sizes, Ra is currently our runt at 250+ grams and he feels so tiny when you hold him. Then you go to our big girls Osiris 1450 grams and Egeria 1900+ grams and can really feel the power these snakes have at their command.

The ability to walk into the room, pop a tub open at random, and see something completely different.

The variety of size, color, and personality. Mine range from a 1.5 foot long young anery female corn to my 4 foot, 2 year old ghost corn male. Then there's the difference between the balls and the corns. :) Also, I just love to watch them, and spend time with the ones that let me. My candy cane corn is sort of...snappy right now since it's breeding season, but I still have my ghost corn and my new amel male corn to "cuddle".

As someone currently keeping 15 species of snakes I have to say it is mostly the challenge of keeping so many different animals all feeding, growing and thriving well. I had also amassed an additional ton of African House snakes that I have now placed with a large commercial breeder and I had to do it because I eventually had to admit it was just to many.
I plan to add 4-6 more species, all singles and no more breeding :colbert:
As someone that does educational programs diversity gives me more to discuss, show and more "shots" to break through barriers. That is really cool too, but again I think it is having so many different animals that I have to accommodate and learn to understand at a deep level to keep them all doing well. Sometimes I almost feel like the world traveling herpetologist I dreamed of being as a kid,

Four different species means different husbandry, sizes, colors, shapes, personalities, etc.! They all rock our world. But we do tend to have favorites in terms of who gets handled the most. But we try to be fair. They all seem to love being out.
We love 'em all! And, yes, there is always someone to hold when the others have eaten recently.
