I think I am going to get a Herpstat pro... thoughts?

I am eventualy going ot need another rack here anyway and a thermostat to go with it, I thought maybe I would give the Herpstat a try, but I am going to start with the Pro series because what it can do.

Alarms
It can text or email you,
cuts power if there is a problem
Logs
and a few other things

If I read things right, it has 4 plugs so I can control 4 racks or cages or what not.

The alarms and email (with the data connection) sound like a good idea. I wish my Helix 1000 would have this standard, would make me feel safer

$385 bucks sounds like a lot but safety for the animals and my house is a prime concern

Anyone have any thoughts on the Herpstat Pro (I will most likly get the bundle)

Edit: Does this thing come with 4 probes? Or is that a seperate purchase?

I can't vouch for the pro unit, but I just purchased the regular Herpstat and it works great! Temps at exactly 92* 99% of the time, and the rest it's at 91.9.

I love my pro.

I do NOT have the e-mail capacity or the logs however, but otherwise, I really really like it.

4 probes and 4 different outlets. Great stuff :)

yes 4 probes, 4 outputs..you really can control 4 different enclosures and or incubators

I am very happy with the Pro. Read carefully about the text message functionality..i do believe that option is only for Verizon customers...or some company like that...but it's not a universal thing, which is the only thing i can complain about.

Yeah... I had verizon but not anymore. Email is fine since my blackberry can recieve my email :D

Blast... I was going to order it tonight but my card was declined! Think I hit the max limit so I have to wait a little bit.

Well, I got it ordered. Looks like next week. Also ordered a scale since I lost my other one when we moved. The scale is laying around here some place. Oh well, if I find it, I will have a scale to weigh rats I guess :)

Next item, Probably going to try an animal plastics rack, the 1754(9)

The two boaphile racks I got (the rhinos) are nice, but they do have their problems (sagging and binding is one)
