Re: couple basic questions.
Some males and females need some extra stimulation to get going others dont. By stimulation i mean temp changes or low pressure systems. But ive heard that people have been successful not changing temps and just putting pairs together.
Re: couple basic questions.
some people successfully breed with constant year round temperatures but i cooled my breeders. i really just use the natural seasonal drop in temp and put the breeders lower on the rack where the air temp is a little cooler.
i cycle my males for three days with the female and four days off unless they are still locked up past three days. during their four day rest i feed them and leave them alone.
i have never heard of females injuring or killing males but i am not as experienced with breeding as many others on this site and there may be risks. make sure your females are healthy and not overweight to reduce as many health risks as possible.
ball pythons will breed any time during the year so if you feel confident in your animals and yourself then go for it! research like crazy.
these quick answers are just my experience and there are many ways to do things as i bet other posters will gladly inform you.
good luck!
Re: couple basic questions.
do you remove the hides when breeding? or do you just use big enough hides for both to fit?
Re: couple basic questions.
i remove the hides and leave only the water bowl inside the tub.
