    Youtube Help
For those of you who have uploaded videos onto youtube using windows movie maker, how do you do it? i've been trying for days and i still cant get them to upload. first i found out the file was too big, so i looked for a way to make them smaller. then i was told to use windows movie maker and save them as a "compressed file". well i found WMM on my pc and saved them, but idk how to save them as a compressed file. well i saved them by clicking "save as" and tried uploading them that way onto youtube, but then after the video processed, it said it was an invalid format. so now im really close but i need someone to show me STEP-BY-STEP on how to upload videos onto youtube using WMM.

First off, how big was the movie? You tube users can only put on ten minute videos, and they have to be a certain size. It sounds like you are saving it wrong, did you double check that?

one of the videos was 689 MB and only 6:10. using WMM i was able to downsize it to 91 KB. the second video was 529 MB and only 4:43 and i was able to downsize that to 94 KB.

i click on "save project as", then on the "save as type" part, it only lets me save it as a *.MSWMM file. i just need to figure out how to change on the format on the videos to either .mov, .avi, .amv or anything else that youtube accepts.

I can't really offer too much help as I've never used WMM, but what I can tell you is that if you're downsizing the file to 91KB or 94KB, there's no movie there, or it's microscopic in size. That leads me to believe that there's some kind of file corruption or something happening to your files... Good luck with it though...

    yep..that's what I'm thinking...91MB would seem right..but 91kb is like th size of the bp.net banner....really small.

i think the question i should be asking is, what video editing software can i use to change the format? im not looking for anything fancy, just to change the format.

Insteed of the Save Project under the File menu chose the Save movie file. Select the manner in which you want to save it. I alway just do "For Play back on my computer" then choose the quality and screen size you want. It will tell you what the final movie size will be over one the right hand side. Then just click save.

You can open the .mswmm files and do this to them. those are raw project files that you can edit.

I do all my youtube files this way..http://www.youtube.com/user/FREAKIEFROG
