Pet Amnesty day in Miami Metro Zoo

It was cool for the county on Miami-Dade to hold a "Pet Amnesty Day". So me and my boyfriend decided to support this cause so we joined in and had a wonderful time out there. It was great, people were bringing all types of animals in.From the looks of things it looks like there giving people one last chance to give up there animals before they really start cracking down on those who own the animals that require permitts.

If I were in Florida, I would have totally been there as well... Would have gotten to see some really cool stuff.

awe i wish id known. we wouldve gone!! we were at parrot jungle sunday. pooey, what are thy going to do with all the donated animals i wonder

They were saying all over the radio station that they were gonna be there... I only stayed in the front for a while and then rushed inside to the zoo! People could've donated if they wanted to and it was free to do so. You just had to have some reptile experience and get a certificate which was free also..

wow! very cool! but how bad is it that while I was looking at your pictures, all I could think was "I can't believe she's wearing shorts and a t-shirt!" I'm very jealous!

Haha! I love living in the south, i'm not in florida, but shorts and t-shirt are nice clothes for Texas winters as well.

hey now.. its freakin cold today and tomorrow lol.. were in the 60s! :P

what radio station do you listen to (was it on?) we listen to 99.9 and occasionally y-100 if not its the IPOD lol no wonder i didnt hear it

Hehe! Well... at least spring is coming soon... You get to enjoy every single season... Here in Miami its summer all year long..

In Power 96 I heard something about snakes in Metro Zoo and then I went to the Metro-Zoo website and check out what they had and seen the ad. Umm right now they have a reptile exhibition all the way until May 11... And it's called "Reptiles: The Beautifull and the Deadly"... And that one is inside... And was alright.... they didn't have any balls though :(
