Getting a new Ball Python
I am thinking of getting a ball python. I have done all my research and homework on them and I feel like I can handle the responsibility. I would like to get some tips from current owners though. Any advice any of you would like to give to a first time owner?

Hi,
Have the enclosure set up and running for at least a week before getting the snake itself to iron out any problems with temps or humidity.:gj:

Please read all of the informational stickies regarding enclosure choices, heating choices, thermostat choices, etc. As Derek suggested, after getting the habitat supplies, make sure it is up and running and stable; took my racks and reptile cages a good 2 weeks to get temps and humidity perfect and stable. Also, figure out what you'll feed it (mice or rats) and have your supplier figured out.
Thanks for doing all of this research before getting your snake. ;)
