My BP is about to shed. Any tips?
I am a new BP owner in need of some tips on shedding. After his feeding last Friday, I noticed the underside of my BP turned pink. What should I do to help the shedding process? Should I wait to feed him again until after he sheds? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Generally you want to get the humidity level up to around 70%.. some people don't offer food when they're in shed, as they're more likely to refuse it, but it does no harm if they eat while in shed.

Just bump the humidity in his cage to around 70%... you can do that by placing a wet towel in is tank, lightly misting or giving him a humid hide. Other than that, just let nature take its course.

You could try feeding but it won't hurt him if he skips a meal. Sometimes they'll eat while in shed and sometimes they won't. ;)

x2 on the humidity, also limit handling while in shed...as said above, it's ok to offer to feed but don't be surprised if food is refused

the humidity is the most important aspect of a good shed. I had some problems keeping it up in my tank, the solution that works for me is to take a beach towel or a sweatshirt (something thick) and get it wet and put that over most of the top of the cage, just leave some open space for circulation. Ever since I have been doing that sheds have been perfect. This is why I'm switching to tubs, tanks are a pain to get correct humidy/temps. good luck

I always put a reptile friendly piece of wood in the tub or cage for them to rub against and aid in the actual shedding process. My lemon just did a perfect shed and used the piece of grape vine! I also kept humidity at 72% from blue to shed. Hope this helps!

Brutice finished shedding today. The skin came off in one long piece with just a tiny bit of it still left on the end of his tail (which ended up falling off hours later.) :)
