What's your favorite way to clean?
Not that it's anyone's favorite thing to do...but you all probably have your favorite ways :-) Last time I cleaned out Jade's tank I used a diluted 3% bleach sol'n, but I'm interested to hear of other methods. I've heard of diluted vinegar sol'n and that store bought "Wipe Out" product....What do you use??

I use this and it works great. Cleans and gets rid of any unwanted smell. A lot of people like to mix stuff. I would rather spray and wipe and spend the extra dollar or two.

Chlorhexidine for me. Works great - just spray and wipe.

I have a lot of extra tubs ready that I keep ready to go. I'll switch animals out into new tubs, dump the bedding and toss the old tubs in my bath tub. I blast them with hot water, scrub with a brush then use an air compressor and an auto size paint can of clorahexadine solution (with a respirator on) to thoughouly spray them down. I let them sit for half an hour, rinse and add new aspen.

This is a great idea! I ought to get enough tubs so that all the snakes have an extra! Very cool~ thanks for the heads up! :gj:

We just had a cleaning day here yesterday. It's so much fun.

We bag everyone, shop vac the bedding out of the tanks, and spray down the cages with disinfectant. We've been using the Wipe Out kind from ZooMed, and it seems to be working pretty well. Then we start the bedding soaking, since we are crazy and use the coconut husk bedding that has to be soaked in water. Then I get to go at the glass with a scraper to get all the calcium deposits from the week's misting off, rinse them, dry them, get all the decor set back up, get the heating back on, and get everyone back in their homes.

It's exhausting. I can't wait til we get our Boaphile cages , I'm so sick of these darn tanks.

Since I only have one bp, i let my daughter hold George. I take all the hides & water dish out.take the newspaper w/ some aspen bedding ball it up, & throw in the trash. I then vacuum out the left over aspen in the tank. I then spray the enclosure with GENERIC NOLVASAN/VIROSAN Chlorhexidine gluconate 2% of course diluted.

let it sit for 20 min, then I wipe it out good.
I put new newspaper, aspen bedding & put George back in. he is happy!!! Just cleaned his enclosure last night.:gj:
