well, as it turns out, i wake up and find my male rat dead. Hes been super healthy and and the sweetest rat ive ever had. He will be missed. It looks like i have the same problem as Robin. He was albino.

I don't put a whole ton of credit into their vocals, I have a couple girls that raise all hell when they are breeding. Call them chicken-rats, they will scream ... no ones hurting, biting them... Just a bunch of chickens.

If he was killed by another male, it should be blatently obvious. These suckers can handle a lot, so I would expect there to be even a small amount of blood involved.

If he was killed, it would be a blood bath, you wouldn't miss it.

I suspect Moose just stroked out on me. There's always a lot of squealing when I'm breeding when the girls don't want to be bothered, but never any injuries.

No blood whats so ever, so maybe not. I heard alot of movment in the tank ( it woke me up multiple times) and he was still alive. then the last time i heard a terrible screaching noise, turned the light on and he was gone. He was at the bottom of the stairs too in his wire cage, i think he was pushed.

All kidding aside, im clueless to how he died. I wraped him up in plastic( looked like a body bag) and desposed of him.
