Is it odd to want a Snappy snake?

For some reason I want a mean snake. Im thinking it would be exciting even if I did get the c*** bit outta me. Anyone else feel this way?:rolleye2:

Well, I prefer docile snakes, but I've ended up with a few finger munchers, and I love them anyway. They keep you on your toes, and its always 'exciting' when you open that cage door. lol I appreciate snakes of all temperaments I guess is what I'm trying to say.

I don't really feel that way at all lol. I guess if you had owned many calm and even boring snakes you might want to have something aggressive and wild, but only if you had the experience to handle these animals correctly and ensure they were happy even if they were aggressive.

I dont think its too odd (((:rolleyes:))). I kept the docile group for a couple of years and then decieded I wanted to go for something a little more fun (for me atleast) so I got a coachwhip. Defantly wasn't what you would call docile and kept me on my toes. I kept that for a while and then decieded that I wanted more of a challenged which is when I moved on to the imported rear-fanged snakes that I kept. They were by far the biggest challenge I faced but I really enjoyed it and do plan on getting back into them in the near future!

I also like bitey ones. They are great feeders...

I can certainly understand the allure. Bitey snakes seem more wild, more unpredictable, more exciting. There is something about a snake that can make you bleed more then a red cross volunteer that just demands your respect. Snakes like that can teach you good handling techniques as long as they don't succeed in making you fear them. I particularly remember a pair of huge everglades rat snakes that I used to have that would go after me every time I opened their tubs. They put on a very loud and intimidating show and had the teeth and speed to back it up with. I really liked those snakes, but eventually it got old dealing with the prospect of bleeding every time I changed a water dish so I traded them off for something else. I don't even remember what I traded them for anymore but I'll certainly always remember them. I'm glad I had the privilege of keeping them and learning from them, but I'm just as glad that I no longer have to deal with them anymore.
