Warm side temperature. Help me out.
Okay so my question is this. When it comes to my pythons cage as it is right now I have an undertank heater. I keep one hide on it so it recieves temperatures of about 85-90 in the hide. I am building a wooden cage and will be using either a radiated heat panel or a heating bulb to heat from above. Should I continue to heat the warm side to 85 -90 if it's hide is cooler being that it is shaded or should I try to keep the temperature of the hide 85-90 even if it means heating up the rest of the warm side.
Re: Warm side temperature. Help me out.
I'm not certain what you are saying, really. If you are saying that your warm side, inside the hide, is 85-90F, my response is 85 is too low and 90 is my lowest; though my warm side is more of 91-92F and that is the temp of the entire warm side, not only under the hide. Then the gradient happens, gradually temping down to about 82 on the cool side as well as that temp under the cool side hide. I'm uncertain if this description helps you, or maybe leaves you scratching your head.... :rolleye2:
