    Man this sucks!
I went to the tub where Caesar and Moose were hanging out together to get Moose to put him in with some ladies. Open the tub, and he had passed away overnight. He was healthy as a horse just yesterday, no sneezing, no wheezing, no slowness - and no blood to indicate that he and Caesar had fought.

And I just fed off all the males, with one I had considered holding back. :(

    Ouch, im sorry.

Do you know his age? Wonder what it could have been?

Do you have any baby males you could hold back?

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. :( I just lost an almost ready to breed holdback girl the same way just a few days ago. No previous signs of anything amiss and no indications of anything externally wrong afterwards. I know it happens but it just makes you wonder and wish there was something you could've done. :(

I produced him from a beige hooded to a black hooded, he was less than a year old. His mother did the same thing - was fine one night and gone the next. She was older when I adopted her though, so I figured she just stroked out. He was from her last litter of 19 babies.

His brother is with Emily and breeding for her. I do have two litters of 2 week old babies I could hold back a boy from.

    Aww, I'm sorry Robin.

I absolutely fear the day that my first girl passes on. She's is my absolute favorite, and is such a sweetie. She's now 2, so I know I don't have much time left with her. :(

Mrs. Snuggles is my first rat, and Ceasar is my first male. Mrs. Snuggles is doing awesome after the surgery to remove her tumor over Thanksgiving and she's living the life of a spoiled lap rat and helps with the grow out girls!

Im very sorry robin! What color was he? Did he happen to father any litters that you are fixing to have/wean? Maybe take a male from them.

Thats very nice of you Deb!
