Is that a bulge in your belly or are you just happy to see me?
First ovulation this year and it is also from my most anticipated pairing. This female produced 6 good eggs as an 18 month old last year so I am hoping for a couple more this year. She was bred exclusively with my YB this season.
Some ovulation pics

Last year I made a mistake with my egg containers that dried up my first couple of clutches including 5 of the 6 eggs from this female. The one that survived hatched as a tiny little guy at 30 grams and he was very weak. I am happy to say he is doing well now and has the biggest appetite of all my BPs. Visually he has some similarities to his aberrant mother, but just not enough to say she has passed on her look. When he first hatched I thought I hit it, but his color never went through the dark color change like his mother did at about 6 months of age.
Here is a pic I took this morning of him.

Lastly, here is a girl that should be my next in line to blow up! She is glowing so much she almost looks radioactive.

Good luck to everyone,
thanks Kevin

Looking Awesome Kevin! Care to share what your mistake was with your eggs so that I don't make the same mistake this year?

Robin, last year after reading the Barkers book I decided to use larger egg containers such as 5 gallon buckets with a piece of glass covering them. My mistake was I didn't fill the containers up with enough vermiculite and there was just to much dry air in the container and also to much dry air was coming in because the glass didn't create a very good seal on the bucket. By the time I realized what was going on it was to late.
I could have made a few adjustments and still used the buckets, but for my last three clutches I went back to using sealable plastic food containers and had 100% hatch rate with fat healthy babies. This is what works for me, so I will probably just stick with the smaller containers. I use a walk-in closet as my incubator so temp fluctuations are not a big problem, and I have a better feel for controlling the humidity in the smaller egg containers.
I also had other personal circumstances that kept me from focusing on the incubating eggs like I normally would. Like the saying goes "live and learn"!:rolleye2:
Thanks Steve, I am keeping my fingers crossed for a nice healthy clutch!

Wow, what morph are those two? Are they both fires? Gorgeous BP's either way, and good luck this season! ^_^

They are not fires, but they may prove out to be some type of genetic trait, only time will tell. The hypo apperance is due to their hormonal "glow" that happens before they ovulate. For now they are just pretty normals and I am cool with that!
Thanks for the well wishes everyone, and I certainly hope to have a successful year.
