Re: Snake Sickness
It's a prolapse. You can try soaking him in some warm sugar water (yes, water with sugar in it) for a few minutes and see if it goes back in. If that doesn't work, then you need to get all of his bedding out of the cage and put paper towels down. Then go to the store and get yourself some KY jelly (make sure it is water based, should say on the label) coat his bits that are sticking out so that they don't dry out, and get him to the vet ASAP. Tonight preferably, tomorrow morning if not. This same exact thing happened to my first BP and this is what my vet told me to do. Mine was just fine after the vet got his bits back in.

Im sorry to hear this, my little boa girl just did this. get some warm water and dissolve as much sugar as you can in it, then place the snake in the water. while the snake is soaking in the water, call your vet!
My girl had to do surgery, because she ripped her sides!

Re: Snake Sickness
A question for ya...Did this happen while you were holding or handling the snake in any way? If so...have you checked on the snake since putting it back in its enclosure?
Sometimes, if they get really stressed or freaked out, they will intentionally evert their "junk"...I don't know if this is some effort to gross out a predator or what...but if it happens because of this, it should right itself after the snake gets a chance to relax and feel safe again in its own home.
If it's a big bulge that came out for no apparent reason and can't seem to go back in...then yeah....follow the advice listed so far and get ahold of a reptile vet asap.
I wish you the best!

Re: Snake Sickness
I was wondering if this has any affect on the snake reproducing? It would seem to me that this would have a drastic affect. This has not happened to my Balls but someone might see this later and want to know this answer.

If it was just a snake everting due to stress, that would not affect its ability to breed. As for an actual prolapse....I imagine that would depend a lot on what caused it to begin with, how severe it was, how quickly it was treated, what kind of treatment it needed...etc. A question only a qualified vet evaluating the specific snake could answer.
