    Uv....???
Just curious how many people use UV for their balls? I know its not really necessary, just curious if the vitamin D factor is a really big thing or not...any visible improvement or anything?

I've never used one on my BP, so I'm not sure...I've heard some people say it brings out the colors in JCPs. I had one on my carpet's cage for a while since I had live plants in it. I didn't notice any difference though.

Balls (and all boids, I think) get their vitamins from their food; a very good reason to feed top quality!!

Nobody uses UV light for their BP.

Keep in mind that BP are nocturnal snakes!

Unfortunately I have a friend who does... Its utterly useless, and every day I want to take the snake from him for husbandry reasons... BUT because he's 'friends' with the slimy exotics shop owner here who sells WC animals ridden with parasites and advertises them as CB he "knows better" than I do... Which is why is 3 year old male weighs 650g max and is a 1/3 the size of my female half his age.... Sorry rant over.

UV is not necessary for nocturnal animals and is typically only really provided for balls by people with no clue what they are doing.

I saw a video online where someone said UV was beneficial for balls. This site looks as if it's made for kids rather than adult owners but I guess there are varying opinions...

    Here's the site: http://www.reptilestv.com/video/snak..._python/00.htm

On the vid they say the balls have some kind of glands running down their backs where they produce something with the help of UV rays... I'm not convinced though. My balls have never had UV and they're doing fine.

yeah..I mean obviously all the pet stores have said "yeah sure, you need it, it will bring out the colors blahblah" but I was just curious about personal experiences. Thanks.
