    Paintings from the dark side
I just finished up some artwork. I finally had an uncut, uninterrupted day at home :) Here goes.. but they are not puppies and teddy bears. All are acrylic on canvas panel.

First off, a self portrait. I used it also in my avatar.

And my fun version of my husband. I call it "Dark King Mark." :) If you think that it looks eerie and frightening, good; that was the idea. I am trying to think of how I could add in an old gun or a sword.

And my complimentary painting to the one of him. I call her "Light Queen Night." I want to add a hand (her hand) where you can see the fingerlike lines on her chest.. it was originally a painting of a nature scene that I painted over, and those lines stayed, and I think that it'd add dimension :) I wanna add on those clawlike silver finger rings and other rings.

I like them! I adore the texture of the Dark King's fur collar there, I can imagine what it would feel like. The eyes are all delightfully haunting too. :gj:

Thanks :) The collar was an accident. I was trying to think of how his hair would fall over the collar of the coat.. and these really cool furry looking lines appeared as I flicked the paintbrush so I just ran with it. I hardly ever plan-out a painting really. I just let it go where my right-brain takes it!
That is why Acrylics suit me, I think. I can add things later or paint over things and unlike oils or watercolors, it is easier to change things later. Although oils, you can do that too.. but I am too impatient to wait for them to dry! Though that could be an advantage I guess if reworking something..
