    Agouti baby pic
I was thrilled to get these Agoutis out of a beige hooded x blue rex breeding :) Leave it to me to be excited about "natural" looking rats.. I bred enough high-whites, rex, and even double rex in the past. Now, the more plain rats that I am producing are exciting me more! :dizzy: I am holding back any females and maybe even a male to replace/augment my blue rex dude.

Three out of 8. Others were snake din-din.

I know that they are cute animals. I just see it as the cycle of life. But I don't mind; we all have our preferences. :)

Congrats! I prefer the 'normal' critters as well. My breeding group consists of a beige self, three blacks, a siamese dumbo, an albino and a black hooded. No more rexes for me.

You know.. I like rexes. My only male is a rex. But I too really want to steer away from them. Not sure why.. I actually think that they are adorable as babies. But I think that more normal-coated rats are in my future.. it is jsut time for a change :)
Siamese dumbos have always been great females in my breeding program.

I am not actually that fond of rats themselves. In all honesty, if I got out of snakes or had to get rid of snakes, I would not have rats. But I enjoy breeding my own feeders, so that I know what I am getting in that department, and they are healthy feeders,
