    Help identify this king
I took in this kingsnake this evening. The guy said it was a cali king both in the craigslist ad, and via email. When I got there to pick the snake up, I was a little shocked. I told him it wasn't a cali, it looked like a Southern Florida King to me. He didn't argue, turns out, he knew very little about snakes, this one was laid on him to babysit three years ago! Anyway, I think it's a Brooks, any other suggestions??
    thanks

The story is, the snake was a school classroom snake for 15 years, the school closed, and the snake changed hands no less than 4 times since then. He guesstimated it to be around 20 years old.
I measured when I got her home, as close as I could come with a string was 5'5". Haven't weighed her yet. Said she still shed every month to month and a half. Poor girl has scars all over, I assume from rodent bites. Has a minor resp infection, sneezes a bit and wheezes a bit too. I'll take her to the vet for a full run thru and meds next week.
Overall, in pretty good shape, loves to be held, not scared of my dog or kids, doesn't pull back or jump at all.
The biggest Florida King I've ever seen too!

I'm not up on my Fla. nomenclature but isn't that a plain old Florida King? floridiana?

What's the difference between brooksi and floridiana?

I've got to go dig out an eastern field guide. I think I have one somewhere.....
