For the mothers of the group.
I've got a question. Does morning sickness have to include vomiting?

its different for everyone.. for me, the smell of food made me nautious and I would dry heave most of the time, sometimes actually vomiting. My mom only got sick to her stomach when she smelled leather but no vomitiing. Unfortunately, your body has its own way of dealing with the hormonal shifts happening when pregnant.. so yes sometimes it does. But it doesn't last forever, usually by the second trimester it stops.. at least for me it did.. hope this helps. :D

OMG, brings back memories!!!! I have 4 kids and all four of the pregnancies were different!
My first one was the classic scenario: vomit once in the morning, felt sick til noon, lasted for 3 months and then all was fine. Got a beautiful girl :)
Second pregnancy: Sick as a dog for 9 months...............got a great son out of it though! ;)
Third pregnancy: Felt sick though never really threw up but once or twice. Great pregnancy after the first month. 9.5 pound baby at the end! :P
Fourth pregnancy: No vomiting, no sick feeling at all; but I was really tired (must have been running after the other three!) After a super long labor another boy was born; 10 pounds!!
After pushing that one out I was DONE!!!!!!!!!!! Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So....this thread begs the question: a pregnancy???

To answer your question, I do not know. I was one of the "lucky" ones, I never was sick at any time during my four pregnancies. However, I'm sure that just feeling queasy and not liking certain smells could qualify as morning sickness...which, by the way, does NOT just happen in the morning, as my sister-in-law can attest to. She got sick like clockwork around 7 each evening.

I am not sure...I took two tests and they're were negative, but I am still late. I am going to wait one more week then make an appointment. I have been rather nausious and tired though.

Well, sometimes stress can mess up a cycle. I've had that happen before, so that's possible, and certain medicines can do the same.

Sometimes, though, you just have a "feeling", and if that's the case, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I never did take a test with my second and third. I just knew. I did with my fourth because I was just so shocked, after Dr. said we couldn't have any more.

Best of luck, and many prayers for you!

Well, I know my best friend has scared me off about this one because she's been nauscious and vomiting pretty much 24-7 for 4 months now. The Doctor told her it was 'normal' though.

I failed two pregnancy tests, three if you count the one done at the hospital after I was in a car accident. So those aren't necessarily full proof.

As for the sickness part... Both of my pregnancies were very different. I was sick as a dog with my first one for 7 out of 9 months (brief respite in the middle) I also had severe cramping and a scare of a miscarriage. Fortunately everything worked out well, and I have a very healthy boy that will be turning 8 next week. My second pregnancy no illness whatsoever, in fact I just wasn't hungry at all. It was much easier all in all, but I ended up with a thyroid condition, that I believe started during that pregnancy which resulted in a beautiful baby girl.

Either way, however the tests swings for you I hope that you find some peace in the answer.

Well, I've only been pregnant once and all my friends hate me for it since none of my symptoms were really severe. I did have 'morning sickness' for about the first month and half or so, and it broke a 13 year record of no vomiting...still upset at that one. But I got a cute, way too smart, cheeky little girl out of it who is now 9.

Altogether it wasn't bad for me. The worst thing was the horrid heartburn that ended up giving me acid reflux that I have to take meds for every day now. In fact, don't tell my BF but I really wouldn't mind it again... except the second time I'd better be able to deliver normally and not get cut open again! Grr...she just HAD to decide to flip over... :)

Well, best of luck! Hope you find out for sure soon...I know how mind numbing it can be not being certain.
