    Choosing egg container substrate
I'm wondering what is the best substrate to use for egg boxes? I know some people use Perlite, some use vermiculite, some use both combined together, while others use Hatchrite.

I can easily get both vermiculite and perlite. Should I get both and mix or is one better then the other?

Its a personal preference thing...perlite, vermic, a mix of both, or no substrate all are effective means of incubation that, when done properly, achieve good results.

If you've never done it before, I would copy the method of someone you know that can give you a hands on lesson...no sense in re-inventing the wheel...and, I know of at least one shady guy in MD that could help you out ;)
