Re: Congrats to Bob Clark
I've seen her in person. VERY impressive animal. She's gorgeous. And it does make me kinda sad, because if he's in Columbus now, then I'll probably never see her again.

I doubt that. To properly raise a hatchling female retic to the largest snake in captivity, food and husbandry requirements and space could easily take that much, let alone man hours caring for the animal.
There was a big discussion about Bob's decision to let Fluffy go on cornsnakes.com; I still firmly contend that it was an excellent decision as it will benefit herp awareness and education, as well as benefit the welfare of all the animals at the zoo with profit from increased visitors to the zoo. Win-win for everyone...and Fluffy will be in good hands. =)

I've gotta say if you've never been to the Columbus zoo, you really should go sometime. It's one of the better zoos I've been to---Jack Hannah's home zoo---and they've added on some excellent exhibits in the last five years or so. They have a brand new, amazing Southeastern Asia section... and I love their North American section, as well. Definitely recommended!
Looks like my next visit to the C-bus is going to include a swing by the zoo... :gj:
