    Minimum Space for a rat
    I have some extra mice bins, wondering are they big enough for a single female rat to use as nursing room.

    Their sizes are 20" x 15" x 6" tall.

    I'm mainly concern about the height, she won't be able to stand all the way up like in the large containers now. Would that be bad for her?

    I think thats plenty enough room for a female rat, probably enough for 2 or 3 with litters.

    That sounds about the same size as the concrete mixing tubs that are used for many rodent breeding racks. You could have 2 females nursing in a tub that size.

    Moms with babies need 150 sq in about of floor space, so in that tub you could fit two moms and litters.
