Okay Im not sure if this is normal...

Okay Kingsley is my new spider and for the past few days hes been preparing to shed. He already went through the blue stage, so I know the actual shed is soon. The only thing is, his skin looks wrinkly. Like visible lines/creases. Is this just because the shed is coming or could something be wrong. I got him from a reputable breeder so I know he doesn't have parasites or anything.

Husbandry right now:
Warm Side: 92
Cool Side/Ambient: 81
Humidity: 64%

Yes, it is normal. Just goes to show he is close to shedding and the old skin is getting brittle. Our BP gets like this, too. Keep the humidity up; he'll be fine. If you are worried, you can always give him a soak.

I just never noticed it before. This is his first shed with me and the normal female I have gets rid of her skin so quick Im not used to seeing such saggy skin. Botox? ha

Just depends on how long they take and if you happen to take them out. I notice new things all the time and wonder, "Why didn't I notice this before?" Our BP went through 3 sheds before I noticed how pink her belly gets before her eyes go blue!

Just keep the humidity right, mist if you need to and I'm sure he'll slip off that old nasty skin any day now. If not, there's a fantastic sticky Christie did on help for bad sheds. Personally, we don't like to soak them until it's obvious they can't get it off themselves.

Ohhh don't worry, I was plannin' on taking some shots asap. He got all the skin off his head but he seems more interested in investigating his world rather than getting rid of his old skin haha.
