    Spider X Pied = ?
I am fairly new to BPs and genetics, but I think I have understood most of the simple recessive & dominant/co-dominant traits.

My question is, what happens when you combine a co-dominant with a simple recessive trait?

For example, I have a spider and would like to pair it up with a piebald. What's the result?

Does the punnett square look like this:

    N p*
    a Na ap*
    a Na ap*

So would I get 50% het pieds and 50% spider pieds?

    Thanks!

yep basically a 50% chance per egg of being spider and all of them would be het for pied.

Thanks! So then I take a spider het pied and a pied, are the odds 1/4 to get a true spider pied? Or do I have to combine two spider het pieds?

Is that true? I mean the chance to get a pied is 50%, that makes sense.... but to get a spider as well is 50% too, so combined it should be 25% for a spider pied, or am I wrong?

Spider to normal you get a 50/50 of spiders.
Pied to Het Pied you get a 50/50 of pieds het pieds

so 50/50 on spider and 50/50 on pieds give you a 50/50 shot at spider pied

I'm not sure I agree  Let's say I get 4 eggs, 2 of those are pied, 2 het pied. Now, of those 2 pieds, the odds are 50% of one being a spider (same for the het pieds), so out of the 4 eggs, only one is a spider pied. That's 25%. Right? Wrong? Does it rain tomorrow? :)
